Two years ago, I went to The Craigslist Foundation's first-ever "Boot Camp" event in New York City. I was intrigued by the tagline, which went something like, "We helped you sell your couch and get a girlfriend, now let us help you with your nonprofit!" If you read my wrap up post, you'll see that I wasn't disappointed. In true Craiglist style it was packed with ambitious young people and had some of the best speeches I've heard at a philanthropic conference.
Since 2006, the event has gotten huge. In 2007, the event attracted a crowd of over 1000 people. This weekend is the 3rd annual New York Boot Camp (on Saturday, August 16) at NYU. The event promises a crash course in all things nonprofit, including Nonprofit Basics, Fundraising, "Big Ideas," and four other tracks. Check out the details here.
If you do attend, please let me know afterwards how it went. If you want to write a wrap-up for the FLiP site, we'll be happy to post it. Thanks, everyone!
