Good article on jobs in the sector

FLiP friend and Changing Our World's COO Philanthropic Services Phil Li shared the following, which explores the evermore competitive landscape of nonprofit jobs.  This Yahoo! hotjobs piece, "Nonprofit Gigs Get Competitive," shares insights from college career services professionals as well as nonprofit executives about the increased quality and quantity of young job-seekers.  What's your experience been, either at the organization where you work -- or if you're seeking work, in applying?  Let us know by commenting below.

A note from Chief FLiP Will Schneider

FLiPs -

Happy New Year!

2008 was huge for FLiP. We had more events than ever, posted more articles, and had way (WAY) more readers. I'm pretty sure that 2009 is going to blow all of that out of the water!

However, before we get into our plans for a bigger than ever 2009, I have one bit of sad news to share with you. Effective right away, after more than four years with Changing Our World, I have left for a new job - and therefore I leave FLiP behind as well.

From 2005, when I originally had the idea that became FLiP, until now I've loved getting the chance to meet and interact with all of you. I've loved the writing, the events, and the hundreds of drinks and coffee meetings we've had over the years.

FLiP is being left in the capable hands of Elisabeth, Lyndsay, and Divine - and I know the community is going to continue to grow by leaps and bounds.

Of course, I am still going be a FLiP community member - so you'll still see me at events, and I still hope to write for FLiP, so you'll still get to read my latest thoughts via the FLiP site. Stay tuned for a post about my new job - as the Director of the Slingshot Fund at the Andrea and Charles Bronfman Philanthropies.

If you'd like to reach me you can find me on Facebook or at willschneider@acbp.net.
